Although their eyes remain tightly closed, (they'll open in the next few days), the puppies are increasingly mobile. Most are able to support their bodyweight on wobbly little legs as they home in on Flossy's teats.
All of the puppies are now over double their birthweight.
The collective litter weight at birth was 3.708 Kilos, last night it was 7.714 Kilos...!
I did all the puppies nails last night while I was weighing them. This is important as they can really scratch the bitches tummy if they're allowed to get too long - this would make feeding the puppies dreadfully uncomfortable for the poor bitch and really mustn't be allowed to happen.
I find baby's nail clippers the easiest tool while they are this tiny and I wait until after they've fed and are quite sleepy.
